I realize this is a really minor reason to bring back a brand, but if you bring back Humber you can have a car called the Super Snipe again, and when it comes right down to it, isn't that what really matters?

Chrysler phased out Humber, Hillman, Sunbeam, Commer, Karrier, and Singer during their ownership, in favor of "Chrysler" on cars and "Dodge" on trucks and commercial vehicles. Peugeot revived Talbot to replace the Chrysler brand after they bought the operation.

Yes, these were all Rootes brands at one time.
Chrysler also had Simca in France and they were subsumed into Chrysler as well. Simca had bought Ford France before selling out to Chrysler who therefore took over Ford's new plant at Poissy. PSA still have it and use it to make the 207 and Citroen DS3.

And I believe Peugeot's UK office and distribution center is still housed in Rootes' old headquarters in Ryton (though the adjacent assembly plant is long gone).
